INSPIRED by the music of the legendary Belgian guitarist, Django Reinhardt, Neil Stacey's Kimbara Brothers are another venture by guitarist Neil Stacey who has had a long held passion for the so called Django style of jazz.
This latest quartet concentrates on the later period of Django's life that was spent in Samois when the violin (played in the Hot Club period by Stephane Grappelli) was replaced by the piano, along with drums and double bass to create a more "modern" jazz sound.
While the Kimbara Brothers take inspiration from Django Reinhardt they also play their own unique and contemporary style that includes compositions by Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael and Charlie Parker as well as well as those by Neil Stacey. And they still include the work of Django in all their programmes.

Neil Stacey GROUP
The Neil Stacey Group recorded the “Leave it to Last” album which is probably the most produced of all Neil’s projects. Neil’s inventive and seductive guitar is set in the expansive soundscape that perhaps only a bass, keyboards and percussion driven band can provide.
The original music is brim-full with melodic hooks, mesmeric rhythms and warm atmospheres. Perfect for listening, dancing or just chillin’ out!
"Neil Staceys new album 'Leave it to Last' takes his mastery of the acoustic guitar and composition to even greater levels. It really is a stunning piece of work.” Greg Carmichael – Acoustic Alchemy
